What is the Franklin Library policy for fines/fees?
Answer
Overdue books are assessed a fine of .10 cents a day for the first 10 days; the fine then increases to 20 cents a day. After three weeks, the borrower is billed for the cost for each book as well as a non-refundable $10.00 billing fee for each. The fine for overdue reserve material is .25 cents an hour. Unreturned photocopied materials are billed at $5.00 or replacement cost, whichever is larger, and also a non-refundable billing fee of $10.00. The fine for removing materials from Special Collections is $2.00 per hour. If the item is not returned in 24 hours, there is a fine of $70.00 or replacement cost, whichever is larger, and a non-refundable billing fee of $10.00.
