How do I log into a library computer?

Answer

Once you're seated at a Franklin library computer, you'll notice on the computer's log-in screen that it requires a 'username' and 'password'.

For students, faculty, and staff, your Username is the front handle of your '@my.fisk.edu' or '@fisk.edu' email. (for example: 'johndoe' would be the username for the email: johndoe@fisk.edu)

Your password is whatever you customized it to be after the very first time you logged into a library computer or any computer on the Fisk campus network. (Your very 1st attempt upon signing into the library's or any of the computers located on the Fisk network, you we're given a generic password to enter which was something like 'Welcome1!' or 'Password1!' Then after inputting that generic password to log-on, you we're prompted to create your own custom password to use from then forward.

You will enter that password. Then you will be logged-in.

Below are some possibilities that my cause log in problems:

  • If the wrong password is entered three times the account is “locked” under the assumption that the person entering the password is not the owner of the account.

-If this happens, visit I.T. in the basement of the library.
  •
  • If it's the beginning of the semester, your account may not yet be active for the Library.

  • You're not enrolled for the current semester.
